International Repair Day Fix-it Clinic

International Repair Day is an annual global event on the third Saturday of each October when we celebrate the people who fix things and help combat throwaway culture. We’re celebrating with a fix-it clinic. Do you have a broken gadget? A wobbly end table? A loose button? A bike with a slipping chain? Bring your broken, non-functioning things to our fix-it clinic. With guidance from handy volunteer coaches, you’ll assess whether your item can be fixed and possibly repair your item. We’ll provide workspace, some tools, and some helpful guidance to help you troubleshoot your item. Regardless of whether you can fix your broken item, you’ll learn more about how it was made, how it functions, be more capable of fixing your items in the future, and maybe be inspired to become a volunteer coach for a future clinic. Hosted by Alaska Environment Research & Policy Center, SILO2, Eagle River Electronics, and the Anchorage Tool Library. Register here:
